The Key to Automated Development Planning
The Individual Development Planner in WebMentor Skills is a powerful tool for automating the process of closing critical skill gaps.
- Each employee is assessed on the skills associated with his/her role. This assessment can be a self-assessment, manager’s assessment, result of an objective test, or other assessment method. Items in red are examples of optional fields that may be helpful; these could be deleted or modified, and a wide variety of others could be added. The scale definitions are customizable by each client.

- The survey leads to a weighted gap analysis, as well as an inventory of each employee’s strengths. Required skill level and importance factor are set by the organization as part of their competency model development and validation process. Employee skill level is determined by the skills assessment. The higher the weighted skill gap, the more critical the skill gap.
